Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: not yet published
A donation is a gift, and we treat it as final. But mistakes happen — a double click, an extra zero, the wrong cause — and we would rather fix them than keep money you did not mean to give.
If you made a mistake: 7 days
Write to not yet published within 7 days of the donation, quoting your receipt number, and tell us what went wrong. Duplicate payments, an amount typed wrong, and donations made by someone who did not intend to make them are refunded without argument.
We refund the full amount you paid. The payment gateway’s charge is not deducted from your refund; the trust bears it.
Refunds go back to the card, account, or UPI ID the payment came from — we cannot send it anywhere else. Once we approve it, your bank usually takes 5 to 7 working days to show it.
After 7 days
We will still look at genuine cases, but there is a hard outer limit and it is not ours to move.
Every year the trust files a statement of its donations with the Income Tax Department, by 31 May following the end of the financial year (a financial year runs 1 April to 31 March). Once your donation has been included in that filing, it has been reported to the government as received, and a deduction may have been claimed against it. We cannot unwind it after that.
So: a donation can only be refunded before the trust’s annual filing for the financial year in which it was made. In practice that means before 31 May following that 31 March. After that date, a donation made in the year just ended cannot be refunded, whatever the reason.
If your donation was reported for 80G purposes and we refund it before filing, it simply is not reported, and no deduction certificate is issued for it.
What we cannot refund
- Donations already included in the trust’s annual filing to the Income Tax Department, as above.
- Money already spent on the case or programme you gave to. Medical aid moves quickly; where funds have reached a patient we will tell you so plainly rather than reverse care that has already been given.
Cancellations
There is nothing to cancel. The trust takes one-time donations only — there are no monthly gifts, no subscriptions, and no recurring payments to stop. If you believe you are being charged repeatedly, that is not us: write to not yet published immediately and tell your bank.
Receipts
Your receipt is issued as soon as the payment succeeds and is proof of payment, nothing more. It is not the 80G certificate. Where you asked us to report your donation, the deduction certificate (Form 10BE) is issued by the Income Tax Department after our annual filing, and reaches you separately.
If a donation is refunded, its receipt is void.
